Patchwork Cabin Fabric Shop Newsletter
February 1, 2012
Winter Greetings from Patchwork Cabin Fabric Shop!
Well, it's been a busy start to the new year. Lots of changes have been taking place around here. My mother-in-law, Elaine, has decided to concentrate on her sewing and has turned the reigns of the business over to me. I am looking forward to seeing the beautiful items she will be making. She is really talented! I do not sew (yet). I have done some counted cross stitch. So...I am hoping, time permitting, that Elaine will take me under her wing and get me started on the road to quilting addiction!
We have been moving bolts of material, books, patterns, notions, etc. from Elaine's house to mine. We live about 20 minutes apart. My husband stops on his way home from work a couple of times a week and "picks up a load." I'm guessing that we have about 300-400 bolts here and another 600-700 to go. Many of these fabrics are not posted on the website. I will be working very hard to get them on the website asap, so keep checking back for new additions! BTW...I am the one who maintains the website. I know just enough to be dangerous! If you have suggestions, see an error, or have any problems navigating or adding items to the shopping cart, please email me so that I can fix the problem. I try to test everything before I upload it, but I may not catch everything.
I will be putting most of the fabric on sale during the next several months. New items will be added to the Clearance Page from time to time. Our clearance fabric is always $3.99 per yard. During the month of February, all P&B and Red Rooster fabrics will be on sale--20% off. Also, a few new fabrics have been added to the Christmas fabrics page. We used to sell fat quarter bundles on the website. I have removed that option for now. There are some fat quarter bundles for sale on my Ebay store--carlisleclearancecloset. I have also started a new Ebay store, patchworkcabin, and am in the process of moving all of the fabric, books, patterns, notions, etc. to that store. There are some items on there now--mostly patterns. Most of the fabric and books are still on the carlisleclearancecloset store. I hope to have everything moved to the patchworkcabin store in a month or two.
Please encourage your quilting friends to sign up for our newsletter. I will be sending one at least once a month. Newsletter subscribers can win 12 fat quarters! Congratulations to our January winner--Delores R. from Virginia. Delores is currently working on a queen-sized owl quilt. She has been collecting fabric for this quilt for about 10 years! The finished blocks with picture framing will be about 6 1/2 inches. She is also collecting rose, mauve, and burgundy fabrics for a Trip Around the World. Finally, she is working on scrappy throws for her two daughters. The youngest daugther's throw will feature turtles and penguins. The older daughter is a Jimmy Buffet and Coca Cola fan. Her throw will feature beachy stuff, parrots, etc. Good luck, Delores! Send pictures!
For those of you who live close to us, my husband and I have transformed our storage building into a shop. We hope to have it ready for customers by summer. We will be putting signs at the junction of SR 78 and SR 260 and at the entrance to our driveway when we are open for business. Jane Webster, owner of Mane Attraction Hair Salon in Caldwell, has graciously allowed me to sell fat quarters/half yards of fabric in her salon. If you have a chance, stop in and take a look. Jane's always there!
Have a happy Valentine's Day and a great February!
Your
friend, Lori
